13 Jul All Points Supports Merritt Island’s First 801 Robotics Team
Merritt Island, FL – July 11, 2022
Team Horsepower, the FIRST Robotics team for schools located in Merritt Island, Florida, made an in-person presentation to the All Points executive team on their plans and community support needs. The four person high school presenters were (from left to right) Nikhil Iyer, Kaley Brown, Bisrat Kassahun, and team lead Makaila Johnson. These students, from various local high schools and homeschools, worked evenings and weekends during build season, donating time in the summer to community outreach. They are looking to fulfill a decade long goal to build their own Robotics lab at Merritt Island’s Edgewood High School.
The new lab will be the only one of its kind in the area and attract even more students, so they may pursue their dreams in STEM fields through first hand experience. All Points was one of the first presentations they made this summer, where the Executive team provided feedback on their pitch, as they plan to present it to other Merritt Island organizations this summer and fall.
