All Points Employees Presented with the All Stars Award

During FY20, STIG switch and router vulnerabilities were identified by the Department of Defense’s Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) team. All Points Network Engineers, Kevin Tooles and Nestor Mateo, devised a plan to replace all outdated switches/routers to be in full compliance with Government mandates by the end of CY21. Our All Points Engineers were 100% compliant for DISA STIGs two weeks ahead of the December 31, 2021, deadline.

Kevin Tooles and fellow Network Engineer Nestor Mateo both exhibited a highly motivated attitude to quickly pitch in to see this project accomplished. They both worked closely with the Government customer to learn the new environment in a rapid timeframe to be a major contributor to the success of this project. Kevin and Nestor worked a modified schedule to accommodate the extensive hours that were needed to accomplish installing over one hundred Access Switches and Distribution Routers on both the SIPRNet and NIPRNet in the Suffolk Compound. Their dedication included arriving as early as 4:00 am and staying as late as 2:00 am on an as needed basis to minimize the disruption to the customer.

Additionally, Kevin and Nestor learned about COMSEC equipment types (i.e., cryptographic, crypto-ancillary, cryptographic production, and authentication) and were an asset during troubleshooting efforts. They are dependable and reliable team members that regularly ensured that scheduled outages were properly planned and approved. Both Kevin and Nestor exceled in every project and consistently continue to develop the highest standards of well-rounded professionals. Their accomplishments are due to dedication towards a team effort, technical prowess, and professional resolve.
